The primary objective of a scaffolding contractor is health & safety and we give it our highest priority. We have an impeccable health and safety record which is achieved through high standards of training, supervision and management, and an effective company safety policy .
KDK Scaffolding are operating a safety management system in accordance with the requirements of the
Safe-T-Cert. All area's of our business has been audited for certification purpose.
With no deaths or serious accidents in our 8-year history, KDK Scaffolding has an impeccable health and safety record.
In 2003 the company took its safety system another giant step forward, with the attainment of the Safe-T-Cert, been the only scaffolding company in Ireland to achieve this prestigious award. To-date no other scaffolding company has achieved this status. This is a notable achievement for a young-scaffolding operation.
Three independent consultants have audited KDK Scaffolding with every one of them giving us a positive report. It is our policy to keep on working to the guidelines set out by the auditors of Safe-T-Cert so that we keep this status.
The certification process involves:
- Application
- Preparation
- Audit
- Certification
Unlike other certification systems, the Safe-T-Cert is based on continuous improvement.
The first audit serves as a benchmark for the company. If that company does not show improvement in the next audit (and each one after that) the certification may be withdrawn.
To help the companies achieve continuous improvement, after each audit the company receives a target list for the next audit. The Safe-T-Cert system relies on independent auditors for the assessment of the health and safety management systems of its applicants.
This is carried out by an audit firm from Britian. This means that all auditing is independent of any Irish influences and this adds to the value of the certificate.
All certificated companies appear on a list, both in paper and on a website. Companies can use the certificate to demonstrate to clients that they have subcontractors who have effective programme of health and safety management development systems in place.
